Sorry to be a Buzz Kill

The viral Obama video has gotten me quite nervous. The children are literally pledging allegiance to the President.

No one did this for President Bush or for that matter, President Reagan. I commented on another blog and said that it reminded me of "Cabaret", a fine film from 40 years ago.
I stole this video from Theo Spark's Site.

Look, I have no problem with teaching loyalty to our country. I don't remember any teachers being particularly fond with LBJ or Nixon. Or for that matter Ford, and Carter. I do not doubt that my teachers back then were for or against, but they did their jobs and tried to teach us all to be discerning citizens.

I am ok with students being proud of their/our President. The former video is indoctrination.

P.s. I hope to not have anyone invoke "Godwin's Law". I haven't called anyone a National Socialist. I let the Cabaret video do the entertainment.

It's all very concerning. The whole Obama thing is seriously flawed - 180 degrees from true.

LL; I really am worried that we have reached a of weird insanity. We now have laws on the books addressing "Thought Crime".

Nickie G - There are a lot of conservative bloggers who don't sleep much. And it's not as if I wouldn't rather be doing something other than blogging. The situation in America is getting worse by the day and the excesses in the new ObamaNation are becoming more profound.

Barco Sin Vela II - If somebody would have told me we'd be in this situation two years ago, I would have called them a tin-foil-hat nut job. Sadly, the world has become surreal and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what's going on.

It is like a nightmare that gets worse and worse and there is no waking up from it.

BTW, I love that picture on your header. I like the Barco too but nothing beats a destroyer. Is it the USS John Rodgers?

I resemble Gene's comment, too.
Aiieee is right, Buck.
Hey USA, No. Not the John Rodgers, it is the Strike Trawler "Deyo", DD-989. I served on that ship '91-'92 while with HSL-44 Det 2.

When the Deyo broke away from an UNREP, the ship would play the Belafonte song, Deyo. Totally cool.
