Big Day. Roll the Bones!

I will be looking straight at the knife, so to speak, in eighteen hours. I make a big deal about it, it's just a short, sharp poke in the eye and off I go. (Pun?) Naw, my right eye gets the pre-cataract lens replacement but as a person who resists all medical procedures, this is big for me. I don't like people touching me.

No sympathy or good wishes are necessary, I have won the birth lottery and was born free in America so I have first dibs on good care, especially if I can afford it. Funny thing, the politicians never acknowledge that all of our citizens have good medical care available, even with the life threatening afflictions. The hospitals will wreck your credit, but the care will be given, period. But as a politician understands (And Politicians get better care than anyone else...) "It's not fair that someone will have to eventually pay for that health care..."

Like a Politician ever pays for their own health care...

But in the spirit of the song above, we all have a 'Ghost of a Chance' of being successful in whatever we do. Especially in whomever we are lucky enough to have a long term relationship. My eyesight quality would have to wait until cataracts formed, prolly when I would be in my seventies, and then Uncle Sugar would cover the costs for this procedure. But somehow I found a way to achieve what I needed twenty years sooner, so I can have the quality (!) of life of decent vision care now and not postponed for my senior years.

But I will think pleasant thoughts and of sober and steady hands for the nice surgeon who is earning enough from me to finance his daughter's wedding in California.  Why not? It's how an economy grows and sustains.

Next Tuesday, the port side eyeball gets the same and by then, I shall be a seasoned veteran who will show false bravado and loudness while facing the same...

All eyeglasses that I possess will be donated to the Lion's Club. There are at least eight pairs waiting to go help someone, somewhere!

Mebbe they're not necessary, but you have them all the same. DON'T rub yer eye when it itches!
